National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA)

Section 3141 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) is about people who were exposed to uranium mining or nuclear testing during the Cold War era – and who may have developed certain cancers and other serious diseases as a result of that exposure. While the NDAA did not amend Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA), it did however establish a sense of the House and Senate to extend and expand RECA.

Read more about the House of Representatives’ amendment to SB 1605, which includes the text of the NDAA for fiscal year 2022.

Were you exposed to government-created radiation during the Cold War era? Have you suffered from certain cancers or other serious diseases that may be related to that radiation exposure? If so, the NDAA may apply to you. Find out if you qualify for compensation from the government. We can help. At the National Cancer Benefits Center, we help people exposed to government-created radiation get the compensation they’re entitled to.
